Solar Pools

More and more individuals are now shifting to various natural ways of acquiring energy for their facilities. One good example is the use of solar pools. This is a kind of pool which takes heat from solar energy that is absorbed by a built-in heating system. There are five major advantages of using solar pools.

First, solar pools save on the costs of pool heating. Natural gas is expensive, and its cost appears to become higher with each passing year. Meanwhile, the energy that can be acquired from the sun is free. Once the solar heating system has been set up, the owner of the pool does not have to worry about paying for heating bills.

Second, solar pools extend the season for swimming. A solar heater combined with a specialized cover for a solar pool can give an additional 2 to 4 weeks to the season for swimming. Moreover, individuals can enjoy a prolonged swimming season with no expense.

Third, solar equipment are durable. Solar equipment usually have a longer life than electric or gas heaters. Solar panels generally last ten to 25 years or more.

Fourth, solar pools require minimal maintenance. Unlike electric and gas heaters that need annual check up from a technician, solar heaters need very minimal servicing. This again results to less worry and less cost for the owner of the pool.

Finally, solar energy is environment-friendly, as certified by NSPI. Using solar energy rather than fossil fuels helps in reducing the spread of smog. Furthermore, the process of burning fuels emits carbon dioxide, which is the primary cause of drastic changes in the climate. Replacing propane or gas heaters with solar heaters can stop tons of carbon dioxide from going into the atmosphere every season.
